The Department of Automation, Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece, organized the 4^th International Conference on Technology and Automation (ICTA’02), held in Thessaloniki, Greece, 5-6 October 2002.

A large number of papers were presented covering various aspects in the fields of the conference.  The conference gathered contributions from more than 40 institutions distributed in 10 different countries.  Seventy-five (75) papers were selected for presentation, out of a total of more than 100 submitted
